The Technology Department has undergone some recent changes. We are now the Butler County Educational Service Center Technology Consortium. We are currently serving the technology needs of Monroe City, Monroe Local School District as well as the Educational Service Center. Tony Thornton, who has been with Monroe Local School District is now the Director of Technology for the Consortium; Roger Foust is the Network Administrator; and Beth Waywood is our Applications Coordinator. We also will be employing three Computer Technicians. The design of this new structure will make it possible for us to more efficiently meet the needs of all our clients.
In regard to the services we provide to the Butler County ESC, we are responsible for approximately 300 users, 700 plus computer/laptops/tablets/printers, four servers and six wireless networks. We provide technical support for the ESC, Head Start, Help Me Grow, FCFC, Alternative Programs, BHP, and the Success Program.
Our users are located within Butler County which includes: Oxford, Fairfield, Hamilton, Madison, West Chester and Middletown. We maintain a local area network as well as a wide area network.
Some of our responsibilities include: network troubleshooting/maintenance; email archiving; disaster recovery; workstation and printer troubleshooting/maintenance; software support/training; database support/troubleshooting; various audio visual equipment support; web site design; and various special projects.
