A Note from the Butler County
Educational Service Center:
Thank you for your inquiry about home
schooling. Please read the other information included in the Home School
section of our website, which describes, among other topics, the most recent
regulations regarding home schooling. If you elect to provide home
education for your child, and if you reside in the Lakota, Madison, Monroe,
New Miami, or Ross Local School Districts, please submit the following to
the Butler County Educational Service Center:
- A completed and signed “Home
Education Notification Form”
- A brief outline of the intended
curriculum and list of textbooks
- An academic assessment report (This
report is not required for first-year home school students)
Once we receive your notification, the
Butler County Educational Service Center superintendent will review it
within fourteen days. If everything is in order and all sections correctly
completed, he will forward a notice to you, which is applicable for one
school year. In addition, notice will also be provided to the local school
district in which you reside.
