RESIDENT EDUCATOR

Our mission is to support our local districts with successful implementation of the Ohio Resident Educator Program. This induction program is designed to support new teachers in classrooms with one-on-one mentoring and reflection around their teaching. Butler County ESC provides the following services to support OREP:

  • Program Coordinator meetings

    • These meetings provide an opportunity for program coordinators to network with each other, share ideas, and receive updates about the program.

  • Mentor Training Academy

    • This training is held by state trainers at least twice a year here at Butler County ESC.  Registration can be found in STARS.

  • Mentor Professional Learning

    • This is support for mentors who have already been through the state training, but need an update on new policies and procedures.

  • Resident Educators

    • There are professional learning workshops being offered for Residents in year 1, 2, and 4.  These workshops are created in collaboration with University of Phoenix and the topics are connected to the RESA tasks in year 3.

  • Program Coordinator

    • If your district needs a program coordinator to oversee your Resident Educator program, please contact our office.

If you have any questions about the Ohio Resident Educator Program, we are happy to help.  Please contact Mary Snellgrove.
