Curtis Philpot to be named Superintendent of Madison Local School District
Curtis Philpot is currently the principal of Madison Jr/Sr High School and has been with the district for ten years including a short stint as interim superintendent in 2009.  He began his career in the Edgewood City Schools as a teacher and coach and has more than 18 years of administrative experience during his 24-‐year career in education. Philpot completed both his undergraduate and graduate work at Miami University.

“I am honored and humbled to be selected to serve as superintendent of Madison. I care deeply about the district and I am confident and appreciative of the opportunity to continue to serve Madison’s students, staff and community,” said Philpot.

The Board wishes to thank the members of the staff and community for their input.  Valuable insight was gathered through appreciative inquiry with staff and a community feedback form on the district website.

“Hiring a superintendent is one of the most important jobs placed upon the Board of Education. Partnering with the Madison staff and community was vital to the process for selecting our next superintendent,” said Dave French, Board President.

Philpot will begin his post as superintendent immediately after the intended vote on Monday evening.
