Mission: The Butler County Success Program removes non-cognitive barriers to learning by building bridges between home, school, and community to improve school success and self-reliance.
The Butler County Success Program grew out of the successful development and implementation of the Lakota Success Program which started in 2003. In the 2007-2008 school year, the program served 5 districts including Lakota, Fairfield, Hamilton, New Miami and Middletown. The Butler County Success Program is currently serving: Edgewood City Schools, Fairfield City Schools, Lakota Local Schools, Madison Local Schools, Middletown City Schools, Monroe Local Schools, New Miami Local Schools, Ross Local Schools, and Talawanda Schools.
Butler County Success has developed and implemented programs and service strategies that reflect a multi-faceted, collaborative model. Butler County Success has provided identification of and access to a wide range of health and human services. Development of specific skills critical to the formation and maintenance of self-sufficiency and intact families, parent/family engagement and involvement in meeting the needs of children in ways that do not compromise parents’ employment are important pieces of the program. Community partnerships complete the scope of the model.
The employment of 15 Community School Liaisons to work with school, family and community is the cornerstone of the Butler County Success Program. The Community School Liaisons are each assigned to a district and specific elementary buildings. They develop relationships with school staff, parents and guardians, and community partners to make great things happen for kids.
Our list of community partners is too lengthy to name. When a request was made last year, our community partners stepped up to respond. Without them, the continued success of the Butler County Success Program would not be possible.
