Home School Process
Thank you for your inquiry regarding Home School Education. If you elect to provide home education for your child, and if you reside in the Lakota, Madison, Monroe, New Miami or Ross Local School Districts, please submit the following to the Butler County Educational Service Center, 400 North Erie Blvd, Suite B, Hamilton, OH 45011:
1. A completed and signed Home Education Notification Form.
2. A brief outline of the intended curriculum and list of textbooks to be used.
3. An Academic Assessment Report. Option #1 - Standardized Testing or Option #2 - Narrative Reporting. (This report is not required for first-year home school students).
Once we receive your notification, the Butler County Educational Service Center superintendent will review it within fourteen days. If everything is in order and all sections correctly completed, we will forward a notice to you which will be applicable for one school year. In addition, a copy of this notice will also be provided to the local school district in which you reside.
