Cross Systems Training

Upon request of the child serving systems, a committee was established to develop a plan to address the cross-system training needs in Butler County.  The Cross Systems Training (BCCST) Committee membership includes representatives of the local child serving systems and social services agencies.  A workgroup of the Family & Children First Council, the BCCST has developed several mechanisms to help equip social services and education employees with the information and resources they need to better serve the families and children of Butler County.

One accomplishment of the BCCST was the development of a two day orientation to social services for new agency staff.  This “New Worker Orientation” combines field trips with guest speakers to allow new workers to become familiar with each other and resources in order to better serve families in need of additional support.  This event occurs approximately two times per year.

Another project of the BCCST is a bi-monthly e-newsletter, the Forum on Families and Children.  The Forum provides a mechanism for the timely sharing of information among the systems that serve families and children.

To submit events, news or program updates for inclusion in the Forum, please send copy ready articles to Heather Wells at wellsh@bcesc.org.  Please limit items to 2-3 sentences.  Include a flyer or website link if available.

To join the distribution list for the Forum, click here or on the button below.

The Cross Systems Training committee is always seeking new members to aid in the development of training and information sharing events.  We meet on the third Monday of each month at 1:30 pm at the Butler County Educational Service Center.  For more information about this group, including how you can participate, please contact Heather Wells at 513-887-5534 or wellsh@bcesc.org.
