The School Programs Department proudly provides many services and supports to school districts in Butler county. In addition, school programs staff work in conjunction with many other educational service centers in the region. |

Alternative Programs The alternative programs serve the needs of at-risk children in our school communities. These programs provide non-traditional settings designed to promote individual student success. Inquiries regarding philosophy and procedures are welcomed.
Attendance Services The Attendance Services Department provides expert consultation and skilled, specialized attendance officers to support school districts within Butler County. Attendance officers support families and students in their efforts to improve and maximize student academic achievement and success.

Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment The department provides leadership and professional development opportunities to local educators in the areas of curriculum development and implementation, understanding and implementing state and local standards, current and “best practice” instructional methods, and assessment practices. It also serves as a clearinghouse for information regarding workshops, courses, training activities, regional RSIT programs and ODE courses.
Success Program The Butler County Success Program removes non-cognitive barriers to learning by building bridges between home, school and community to improve school success and self-reliance.

Technology Department The Department of Technology provides technical support for all of the ESC programs and users all over Butler County. We maintain a local area network as well as a wide-area network. Our responsibilities include: network trouble-shooting and maintenance, Blackberry and PDA support, Email archiving, disaster recovery, workstation and printer trouble-shooting and maintenance, software support and training, database support and trouble-shooting, support of various audio-visual equipment, website design and other special projects.
Additional Areas of Service In addition to those specific programs listed above, the BCESC provides leadership and assistance to school districts in (but not limited to) the following areas: Teacher Entry-Year and Mentoring Programs, and Home Schooling.
