Dave Clark, Technology Integration & Instructional Specialist
Through his experiences as a teacher, counselor and college instructor, Dave has honed his expertise in areas including PBL creation and integration, instructional technology, social studies content-area coaching, makerspace development and classroom management. An ISTE Certified Educator and CAP trainer, Dave helped establish Butler County’s Virtual Learning Collaborative for remote learning and has presented on a variety of topics at local, state and national conferences including the National HSTW Conference, OETC, OU Playful Learning, SPARCC, ITIP Ohio Google Summit, OBTA, OESCA, UC/NKU STEM and more. Prior to his role at BCESC, Dave was a middle school social studies teacher for 17 years and helped design innovative programs like the Phoenix Academy Alternative School and the PBL-based elective course: Humanities.
Heather Sass, Assistant to the Superintendent in Charge of Teaching and Learning
Heather has 20 years of experience in coaching teachers, school teams and school leaders at the district, state and national level. Passionate about personalizing learning for students and teachers, Heather is committed to creating learning pathways that integrate both high-impact content and mindsets for actionable and resilient learning. A former teacher, administrator and consultant, she has experience leading districtwide implementation of project-based learning, standards-based grading, personalized learning, instructional coaching and active engagement.
Mary Snellgrove, Instructional Specialist
Mary has a wealth of experience as a teacher, trusted instructional coach and regional leader in instructional technology integration. Mary is a nationally-recognized trainer for ISTE Certification, whose trainees have more than a 90% portfolio acceptance rate. Her most recent work includes the development of a mobile app to support teachers’ professional learning and a blended instructional model for ISTE Certification training. Mary also leads the Title III Consortium to support districts' work with English learners.
