Occupational Therapy & Physical Therapy

 

Occupational therapists teach skills in the area of fine motor such as pre-writing, visual motor perception, sensory integration, body awareness, self-regulation and motor planning. Occupational therapists work collaboratively with families and educators to ensure a child's success within the educational setting by completing individualized evaluations, customizing individual education plans, and providing instruction and adaptations that meet the individual needs of the student.

Physical therapists teach functional mobility skills such as balance, motor coordination, sensory-motor coordination, self-care and core strengthening and positioning. Physical therapists work collaboratively with families and educators to ensure a child's success within the educational setting by completing individual evaluations, customizing individual education plans, providing activities that strengthen the core muscles, improve mobility, and positioning, as well as providing adaptations that meet the individual needs of the student.
