Butler County ESC Receives Top Workplace Award Seventh Year in a Row

Top Work Places 2019Butler County Educational Service Center (BCESC) is pleased to announce that it has again been nominated as one of the best places to work in
Cincinnati by The Cincinnati Enquirer. BCESC is one of 126 organizations featured on this year’s Top Workplaces list, which also includes partner districts Butler Tech and Ross Local Schools. 2019 is the seventh year in a row that BCESC has been named a Top Workplace by Enquirer Media.

In addition to Top Workplace awards, “best-in-show” winners were named for exceptional employee feedback in 13 best practice categories. Last year, employee feedback earned BCESC “best in show” honors for meaningfulness. This year, BCESC received special designation for its ability to support staff growth through training and professional development opportunities.

The evaluation for the Top Workplaces program is based solely on employee feedback via a third-party survey administered by research partner Energage, LLC, a leading provider of technology-based employee engagement tools. The anonymous survey measures several aspects of workplace culture, including alignment, execution, connection and more.

“Top Workplaces is more than just recognition,” said Doug Claffey, Energage CEO. “Our research shows organizations that earn the award attract better talent, experience lower turnover, and are better equipped to deliver bottom-line results. Their leaders prioritize and carefully craft a healthy workplace culture that supports employee engagement.”

“We are incredibly grateful to once again receive this honor, but it means even more coming from our staff,” said Chris Brown, BCESC superintendent. “Although BCESC is the formal recipient of this award, our people are what makes this organization a truly remarkable place to work.”

BCESC continues to grow as it forms partnerships with school districts, community organizations and families to provide programs, services and solutions to their challenges. From home visiting and preschool to curriculum support and leadership coaching, BCESC employs more than 600 people at more than 30 locations throughout Butler and Preble County.

“Becoming a Top Workplace isn’t something organizations can buy,” Claffey said. “It’s an achievement organizations have worked for and a distinction that gives them a competitive advantage. It’s a big deal.”
