General Development
Young Children as Natural Scientists: March 11, 2020 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Ohio Approved SUTQ

Science in our preschool classrooms is not a complicated process, nor is it an activity that occurs separately from the normal classroom routine. Young Children as Natural Scientists will explore how almost all young children in almost all environments “do science” most of the time. Participants will discover how they can promote learning with preschool science expectations, how to facilitate everyday science in their classroom and develop a deeper understanding of what science is in relation.

Classroom Structures in Preschool: April 8, 2020 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM
Ohio Approved SUTQ

This session will provide teachers with the ability to plan ahead and be prepared for issues around student behaviors and disabilities that can arise in the preschool setting. Teachers will be introduced to and discuss various techniques to help support preschool students. Teachers will also look at examples of schedules and transitions and discuss how these along with pacing, can influence the preschool setting and the structure of the classroom.

Supporting Children with Visuals: May 6, 2020 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Ohio Approved SUTQ

Join us for this 2 hour session where we will discuss how the use of visual supports in the classroom or childcare setting can help all children, including those with some challenging behaviors. We will look at a variety of visual supports that will connect words or ideas with symbols and lead teachers to much smoother days with student and students to less frustrating ways of communicating.
