About the speakers:
Ty Bradshaw
Since losing his Father, Scott Bradshaw, to suicide in 2013, Ty Bradshaw has been in the fight of his life-a fight to promote mental health and prevent suicide in the lives of families and communities all across our nation. To cope with his Father's death, Ty started a blog, SeeyaBub.com, where he shares Scott's story and his journey through the grief and pain of losing a loved one to suicide. Writing with emotion and vulnerability, Bradshaw reminds readers that "it's okay to not be okay, but that it's never okay to stay that way." A dynamic public speaker, Bradshaw is sharing the Seeya Bub story with open hearts and minds everywhere. Speaking in classroom settings, churches, and community events, Bradshaw shares a powerful story of loss, hurt, and the eternal memory of a Father gone too soon.

John P. Ackerman, PhD,
Dr. Ackerman serves as the Suicide Prevention Coordinator for the Center for Suicide Prevention and Research (CSPR) at Nationwide Children's Hospital. He directs community, school, and hospital efforts to educate others about the risks and warning signs of youth suicide. The CSPR helps schools implement evidence-based prevention strategies in Ohio schools such as the SOS Signs of Suicide Prevention program. He has served as a clinical psychologist and child clinical psychology fellowship training director at NCH. He has contributed to research on mood treatments and neurocognitive risk factors contributing to adolescent suicidal behavior. He was recently awarded a grant by the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services to update and disseminate media guidelines on responsible suicide reporting.
